Role Purpose:

To support the growth and development of Member Associations (MAs) and Collaborative Partners (CPs).

This AoC role will focus in gender equality/gender and diversity (and require) experience in humanitarian acute response. This role will be oriented to the inclusion/integration of the new CP and MAs in the Caribbean, smaller islands, and a big element of Francophone alliances with Africa. Experience developing proposals and reporting is desired. The MAs served by this role are:

Context of role:

  • Develop effective professional working relationships with Member Associations/Collaborative Partners.

  • Ensuring the continuity of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) to all people in times of crisis by building institutional capacities of MAs operating in humanitarian prone-contexts to provide life-saving SRH services at the onset of humanitarian crises.
  • Collaborate closely with other colleagues across the IPPF Secretariat and Federation including other members of the global humanitarian team, technical, strategic partnerships and program teams to ensure the sound design, development and delivery of humanitarian programs, and smooth transition between stable times, emergencies and back to stable times.

Role Deliverables:

  • Create and maintain country and MA/CP profiles that capture capabilities, capacities, country contexts, audiences, opposition and competitors in support of strategy development.
  • Devise links between MAs/CPs/Centres of Expertise that promotes and enables networking, learning and capacity building.
  • Advise MAs/CPs on accessing service delivery platform resources in support of operational outcomes.
  • Adapt global tools and frameworks for MA/CP use that reflect changes in methodologies and general sectoral advancements.
  • Partner with MAs/CPs to incorporate key donor requirements and learning into business planning cycles. This includes developing Business Plans, half-yearly reports and annual reports/updates.
  • Disseminate key regional information, commentary and changes in the political landscape to colleagues, MAs and CPs in support of the wider SRHR political and social change agenda.
  • Advise MAs/CPs on opportunities to work with each other that support their own outcomes, specialisations and areas of interest.
  • Support MAs in leveraging timely, efficient and life-saving responses by advising, promoting and providing guidance on IPPF’s Emergency Activation System, the IPPF Emergency Response Fund (Stream3), Global Surge Roster and relevant humanitarian policies, procedures, standards, technical tools and systems.
  • Provide programmatic and strategic support to MAs in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of humanitarian programmes.
  • Facilitate resource mobilization in support of response efforts, including through assistance to MAs to access humanitarian pooled funds, the UNCERF and other relevant mechanisms for ongoing and new and/or emerging emergencies in the regions.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Global Humanitarian Team, to ensure alignment with global strategic initiatives, advocacy priorities and technical approaches related to humanitarian.
  • Evaluate MAs/CPs against Performance, Learning & Impact metrics that support global SRHR commitments.
  • Partner MAs through the accreditation exercises, documenting areas for improvement.
  • Escalate issues relating to MA financial transparency and accountability as set out in the risk assurance framework.
  • Contract management for all unrestricted core funding and restricted project funding under US$1million. This includes ensuring all deliverables (progress/financial reports) listed in the agreements are complied with and of high quality and that training on requirements is provided.
  • Oversight/provision of incident co-ordination resulting from concerns raised on IPPF’s  SafeReport,  when required.

Key Skills/Expertise:

  • Language requirements are English and French, Spanish is desirable.

Role Purpose:

Draw together information coming from individual Member Associations, partner and cross-regional initiatives/projects - including context, needs, challenges and strengths, and provide a continually updated picture of the common threads, in order to inform programming and investment priorities, joint activity development, capacity building needs and prioritization for engagement in opportunities.

Business Analyst roles may also be identified as Youth roles on organograms. This is to enable the Secretariat to align with the Strategic Framework and support a youth centred focus working in intergenerational teams

Context of role:

IPPF has a clear focus on evidence-based programming and decision-making at all levels of the Federation. We therefore are required to have and maintain a depth of consistent information from Member Associations and partners to support advocacy, service delivery and continuous learning.

‘Architect of Cooperations (AOC)’[i], dedicated to a sub-set of Member Associations in each region will use the information to support better their grouping of Member Associations, while at the global level, information will support monitoring programme/project performance, financial utilization and external trends including tracking the opposition.

The information gathered will provide an overall picture of each region and globally. It will cover the main trends and challenges plus support MA-facing and other roles as required. It will map and evaluate Member Associations objectively when opportunities arise such as Calls for Proposals and establishment of new IPPF initiatives, so that Member Associations, who are most in need or most likely to succeed, can be /supported. It will also help Member Associations in raising their own resources and showcase their work better to local, regional and international stakeholders. Stronger information systems fronted by an ’MA Dashboard’ will support our ability to manage the information captured and better use it.

The Business Analyst in the Caribbean will be a youth professional that will support the ACRO Youth Network Officer to foster youth action in the Caribbean.

Role Deliverables:

  • Advise and assist the Youth Networker Officer on the youth engagement in the Caribbean.
  • Gather, collate, analyse and present information ensuring that established work plans and regular support activities are delivered consistent with standards and schedules.
  • Advise on issues related to non-compliance with information guidelines/requirements and anticipate issues that may affect delivery against IPPF strategic objectives as a result.
  • Consolidate and maintain documentation on performance and best practices to support programme improvement activities.

Context of role:

  • Works as part of the Regional Senior Leadership Team to promote, position, develop and grow the work of the Federation.
  • Leads on nurturing and maintaining strategic partnerships in the region that will ensure IPPF is well connected and resonant.
  • Positions IPPF as a proactive sector leader, responsive to the most critical and urgent issues impacting SRHRJ

Role Purpose:

To develop and deliver cutting-edge communications products that support the achievement of regional communications objectives and global IPPF strategy goals.

Context of the Role:

IPPF strategy recognises that communication is not simply a tool to promote corporate awareness and presence but is fundamental to delivering on our goals to support norm change, amplify voices and influence political and social opinion. This is a role for someone who can develop a wide range of communications products that serve varied purposes, from building organisational profile of IPPF to supporting political change objectives to contributing to norm change.

The occupant will be passionate about SRHR, and realising human rights, particularly of those most excluded from these rights by societies and governments. Adhere to the safeguarding reporting and monitoring requirements of this role.

Role deliverables:

  • Organize and deliver a variety of communications products – human stories, blogs, press releases, statements, core information on IPPF etc - for use on IPPF own channels and external dissemination to support both change and positioning objectives (particularly as the new IPPF brand is rolled out).
  • Manage social media channels, ensuring that IPPF is represented where stakeholders come, especially young people, including the creation of digital and audio-visual resources.
  • Advise on what kind of communications can best support advocacy and campaigns on what platform, including cross sectoral campaigns run with other organisations.
  • Work with youth networking and other staff to ensure that those whose voices are normally excluded, are able to influence and have their voices heard through IPPF communications products.
  • Support and enable a safe environment, adhering to the safeguarding reporting and monitoring requirements of this role.

Skills

  • A great communicator, with the ability to express themselves verbally and in writing in the language(s) of the region (English and Spanish, French is desirable).
  • A good working knowledge and ability to communicate with colleagues in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated creativity and curiosity in communications, especially in newer and emerging channels embraced by adolescents and young people.
  • Able to bring different generations to speed on the ever-changing social media platforms and ways of communicating.

Operating in an internal consulting model, this role will be the People Partner in a Regional Team of around 18 people based in Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago.  You will also take the role of leading the development of IPPF’s Talent Development Agenda for the Secretariat as part of the global People, Organisation & Culture community of practice.

Role Purpose:

To develop and implement People Plans that support our Strategic Framework objectives, deliver optimal performance and enable an environment that engages and develops diverse talent.

Context of role:

  • As we transform the approach to People Organisation & Culture, we are looking to be more dynamic, agile and diverse.
  • Building consistency, keeping on the ‘front foot’ of evolving people practices and bringing a proactive approach to attracting talent, people performance and development, workforce planning and enhancing the employee experience journey. Working collaboratively within the global team with the HR Operations Manager, People Partners and HR Focal points to develop processes, tools and platforms that are fit for purpose, support the Secretariat deliver the Strategic Framework and bring about visible change.

Management responsibility:

  • You will have dotted line reporting of a Senior Officer- HR & Office Admin who will provide support to the team and to you on the ground on HR admin, system, payroll.

Deliverables:

  • Develop and implement a rolling annual people plan that is part of the Secretariat People, Organisation & Culture 3-year plan and developed with the Regional Director and Senior Management Team you are working with.
  • Devise, modify and manage the employee lifecycle journey to ensure a consistent and positive employee experience.
  • Plan and optimise recruitment to effectively attract and secure diverse talent, pro-actively advising on approach. Supporting selection directly and/or through training/coaching recruiting managers and providing the objective validation on recruitment decisions in line with our goals and targets.
  • Pro-actively build, adapt and evolve performance and development to ensure capability is in place to deliver, including running and advising on the calibration of performance and development in your own regional areas, working with People colleagues to be consistent.
  • Optimise workforce planning with the Head of Corporate Services to integrate unrestricted and restricted resource ensuring within your own regional areas and in liaison with the HR Operations Manager (in the global team).
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage people and employee relations risks.

Role Purpose: To promote youth-centred action in the region and connect a global community for youth participation across the Federation

Note: One of the Youth Networker roles will be a Team Leader and have dual reporting into the Regional Director chairing Youth. This role will be rotative to promote equal opportunities.

Context of role:

  • This is ideally a stepping-stone development role for people starting their career in our Sector. It is anticipated to be a 2-year contract in this post. We hope on completion of the 2-years role holders will progress onto other roles within the Federation.
  • Working with the Regional Team to bring direct involvement of youth and build regional and global platforms for youth activism and youth led accountability.
  • Working with other Youth Networkers and the regional youth networks to build a global Youth IPPF community and contribute to wider youth movements.
  • Being a champion for Youth centered action within the Secretariat and amplify youth voices into the work of the Secretariat
  • Support Member Associations to develop youth networks in their location of work and foster youth centricity/ youth led programming in their local work in collaboration with Architects of Cooperation[i].
  • Working with and through other members of the regional team from a youth perspective.

Role Deliverables:

  • Organize youth action to ensure that the region has an IPPF youth network that is inclusive of marginalized groups, working to advance in the goals of the new strategy with Member Associations. Support Regional Youth Networks where they already exist to set and/or deliver on their plans, support set-up where they do not.
  • Advise on how to ensure the direct involvement of youth participation and youth led accountability within the region and the member associations. Oversee and contribute to the Regional Youth Forums and Global Youth Forums.
  • Guides and supervises the regional work for the inclusion of a youth perspective that ensures the participation and amplification of youth voices into design, evaluation and implementation of the initiatives organised by the Secretariat, for example advocacy, workshop design, communications etc.
  • Recommends on how to create a grow pathway in the Federation, creating momentum and building engagement with regional networks, identifying and promoting younger leaderships and activism, mentoring strategies and growing opportunities.
  • Amplifies the voice of youth within the Secretariat and how to create a safe environment that encourages/develops young people, ensures diversity, anti-racism and safeguarding of people and finances.
